how to play
Log in with Twitch. Your bracket is tied to your Twitch name — nobody can play as anyone else, and there's no separate account to make.
Click your winners through. Pick every match right through to the champion. Your picks save as you go — change your mind as often as you like before the deadline.
Lock it before the deadline. One bracket per player per tournament. When the deadline hits, brackets lock and the friday battles do the rest.
about logging in
The login button sends you to Twitch itself — this site never sees your Twitch password. Twitch tells us your username and profile picture, nothing more. That's how we know your bracket is really yours: on the old site, anyone could type anyone's name. That hole is closed.
Played in the current tournament on the old site? Your bracket carries over. We match it to the Twitch username stored with it — log in with that same Twitch account and your bracket appears under my brackets, picks and points intact. If you played under a name that doesn't match your Twitch login, tell Sam and he'll connect it by hand.
scoring
- Opening round win: 1 point each (8 matches)
- Quarters win: 2 points each (4 matches)
- Semis win: 4 points each (2 matches)
- Picking the champion: 8 points
- A perfect bracket scores 32. Tied at the top at the end? Both players are declared winners.
missed the deadline? play along
The official bracket locks before the first battle, so latecomers can't join the real game — but anyone can play along with the matches still to come. Pick the winners of the remaining matches just for fun: play-along picks get their own board on the leaderboard page, they don't score in the official game, and there are no prizes — just bragging rights.
the battles
Every friday at 1pm pt on twitch.tv/samnation3000, the two artists in each matchup go head to head over nine rounds of music videos — the chat votes each round, and the winner advances. Results appear here right after each battle.
