frequently asked questions
What are those gray numbers next to the artist names?
That is their seed number. In a bracket tournament, the top 16 are ranked in order which gives them their seeding. The top seed will then battle the lowest seed, #1 vs #16 and the order will follow like this, #2 vs #15, #3 vs #14, #4 vs #13, etc. This is how tournaments are done.
How does the scoring work?
Scoring is: Round 1: 1 point for each correct winner / Quarterfinals: 2 points for each correct winner / Semifinals: 4 points for each correct winner / Champion: 8 points if you pick the correct champion
How did you come up with this list of artists?
This list is based on the combined criteria of global cultural impact, commercial success, artistic innovation, influence on other artists, and longevity. (Though any such ranking is subjective, this ordering reflects the consensus of historians and major music institutions.)
Why isn't [fill in your favorite artist] on this list?
We only have 16 spots, not everyone is going to make it. It's all subjective and all just for fun. Chances are the missing artist was just below cut-off.
I was in a previous bracket challenge. Can I see my previous bracket somewhere?
Yes. Log in with your Twitch account and open My Brackets — your brackets from previous tournaments are saved there, under the current one.
